About Our Treatment

Rallis and Bonilla Orthodontics offers an expansive selection of treatment options for patients of all ages. Because everyone’s smile is different, we take the time to carefully outline each step of your orthodontic treatment plan, from the first appointment to the final celebration.

Braces

Uncomfortable and bulky braces are a thing of the past. Brackets are smaller and self ligating, making them more comfortable and easier to keep clean. By using computer accuracy to bend the wires, SureSmile® patients are able to receive more precision in their dental movements, reducing the amount of wire changes and adjustments. In addition, because the archwires are more precisely fitted to your teeth, your braces are more comfortable.

Invisalign

Instead of brackets, wires and elastics, Invisalign uses a series of clear, plastic aligners that mold to your unique dental anatomy. You wear each set of aligners for about a week, and as you progress through the series until they’ve straightened completely. Not only are the aligners invisible, they are also removable, so you can eat, drink, brush, and floss like you normally do. It’s discreet, time-saving and requires minimal lifestyle changes and office visits.

Early Treatment

Early treatment allows you to correct more serious orthodontic issues caused by jaw malalignment and skeletal development before they become less manageable. Typical early treatment can include appliances such as palatal expanders or even partial braces. Preventative care at a young age can greatly lesson treatment time and intensity in adolescence. The AAO recommends taking your child for their first orthodontic check-up by age 7.

Dr. Rallis DDS, MS

Education

Dr. Rallis graduated from Lincoln East High School where he was active in both track and cross country. After graduation, he attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln, majoring in biology. After college, Dr. Rallis attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry and graduated with high distinction in 2006. This achievement earned him a position in the Orthodontic Residency Program at the University of Oklahoma, from which he graduated in December 2008. During residency, he was exposed to a broad range of orthodontic techniques, from traditional braces to the most advanced treatment methods.

Family

Dr. Rallis was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, and is excited to be back in his hometown treating family and friends. Dr. Rallis loves spending time with his wife, three children, and miniature schnauzer Willa. He also enjoys traveling, running, rock climbing, and keeping healthy. He has one brother, David, who founded Nebraska Oral and Facial Surgery in Lincoln after finishing his Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. Dr. Rallis is dedicated to the orthodontic profession.

Tami Bonilla DDS, MSD

Education

Dr. Tami Bonilla grew up outside of Parkston, South Dakota, where she was very active in sports, her church, and her community. She first moved to Lincoln to attend college at the University of Nebraska, where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in nutritional science. It did not take long for her to fall in love with Lincoln! After graduating from UNL, Dr. Tami stayed in Lincoln to attend the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry and completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree. Graduating with high distinction, she earned a spot in the Orthodontic Residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, where she was very fortunate to learn from a large number of skilled and experienced clinicians in a setting that provided the most up-to-date technology. Here, she earned both her master’s degree and orthodontic certification. Shortly after graduation, Dr. Tami also went on to become board certified. After finishing residency, Dr. Tami stayed and worked in private practice in the Houston area before moving back to Lincoln in 2017.

Family

In 2017, opportunities arose in Lincoln for both Dr. Tami and her husband Brandon – who is now the head men’s soccer coach at Nebraska Wesleyan University – and they jumped at the chance to move back to the city where they met. Dr. Tami felt very honored to join the team at Rallis Orthodontics, where it was evident that patient care and quality of treatment were held to high standards. Despite being a native Texas, Brandon – and Dr. Tami – looks forward to raising their kids in the Midwest! In her spare time, Dr. Tami enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, anything sports-related, listening to music and dancing, being outdoors (when it’s not too cold), and cheering on the Huskers and the Prairie Wolves.
